STRETCH CLOTHES ARE PERFECT FOR PREGNANCY TRUE...AND FALSE

Fabrics that contain elastane have many advantages: they are stretchy and adapt to the changing silhouette. They are soft to the touch and comfortable. In terms of maintenance, they are machine washable, dry quickly and do not require ironing.

However, their elasticity has limits! Indeed, if a garment is too tight, even if it contains elastane, it will end up being tight. Beyond discomfort, pants that are too tight can hinder blood circulation.

Hence the importance of investing in real maternity clothes.

    SYNTHETIC MATERIALS PROMOTE PERspiration TRUE

Let's rest assured, being pregnant does not necessarily mean excessive sweating, however, it is true that the body experiences temperature variations which encourage sweating.

To avoid this inconvenience, we zoom in on the labels: we avoid synthetic materials such as nylon or acrylic which retain perspiration, and we favor natural materials.

CERTAIN “DRY” FABRICS PROMOTE THE APPEARANCE OF FALSE STRETCH MARKS

Stretch marks are small tears in the elastic fibers of the skin that sometimes occur during pregnancy due to weight gain and hormonal variation. They also depend on the quality of each person's skin, but not on the clothes we wear.

Applying special preventive care for pregnancy can significantly avoid the risk of stretch marks appearing.

ORGANIC MATERIALS ARE GOOD FOR THE SKIN TRUE

In general, it is good to favor soft and natural materials: linen, silk, cotton, wool.

For ultra-sensitive skin, hypoallergenic fabrics such as organic cotton are recommended, at least for clothing in direct contact with the skin, especially tops.

For all others, mixed fabrics, especially with a little elastane (link to question no. 1 above), are more comfortable and easy to maintain.

YOU MUST WEAR WARM CLOTHING TO AVOID CATCHING A COLD FALSE

Of course, pregnancy is a time when it is best to avoid getting sick! But it is also a period when the body experiences frequent temperature variations, including hot flashes. So, rather than putting on a big sweater that will embarrass us all day, we adopt the onion strategy: a tank top, a light sweater, a cardigan...

    CONTENT SOCKS ARE MANDATORY FALSE

They are recommended to relieve women who have heaviness and pain in their legs. For others, we keep the good habit of compression socks for a plane trip, but it is not necessary for every day.

If in doubt, seek the advice of your doctor, knowing that compression socks and tights are partially reimbursed by health insurance upon medical prescription. Another tip: you can also use a light legs gel adapted to the maternity period.
