Crawling, rolling, sliding, jumping, running... and developing motor skills and sociability while having fun: this is the objective of the baby gym classes, open to children between approximately 6 months and 6 years old.
A pure moment of pleasure and play to share with your little one!
From a very young age, babies are full of energy and need to move. They are also eager to explore the world around them, discover the capabilities of their bodies and interact with other children.
Provided by psychomotor therapists or instructors specifically trained in this discipline, baby gym sessions perfectly meet all of these needs: they help children develop their motor skills, coordinate their movements, improve their balance and quite simply become aware of their body. These are also excellent opportunities for your child to socialize, especially if he or she is not cared for in a community!
A SECURE PLAYGROUND
At the baby gym, the environment is entirely adapted to allow children to have fun in complete safety: floor covered with brightly colored foam mats, balloons, fabric tunnels, small structures to climb... everything is designed to allow them to have fun without ever getting hurt! Stimulating and reassuring at the same time, the presence of mom or dad (or grandparents, nanny, etc.) is of course obligatory for babies, but also recommended for older children: the baby gym is a precious moment of sharing, exchange and play between parents and children.
STIMULATING AND VARIED ACTIVITIES
Depending on the club, the baby gym can be open to babies from 5 or 6 months or from the time they learn to walk, and generally up to 6 years old. The children are divided into small groups of equal age and the baby gym sessions generally last between 45 minutes and an hour, a short time adapted to the pace of the little ones.
Generally performed to music, the activities offered vary according to ages. After a few minutes of contact between facilitators and children, the youngest (up to approximately 18 months) will do small motor exercises lying down or sitting on mats (pedaling, grabbing their feet, clapping their hands, etc.), then will work on walking, running, small jumps, rolls, somersaults, ball games, etc.
For older children, the facilitators can, for example, offer small obstacle courses, sequences of movements, balancing games or structures to climb. Objective: to use all the capabilities of your body and learn to master them.
For all ages, the activities offered are not exclusively sporting: nursery rhymes, rounds, group games or even massages also have their place at the baby gym. The sessions generally end with a moment of calm, with soft and relaxing music.
PRACTICAL ADVICE
Ready to take on an adventure with your baby?
Here are some tips to ensure that baby gym sessions are real moments of joy for both of you:
• Dress him in soft, comfortable clothing that allows him to feel free to move (t-shirt and jogging pants or leggings for example) and leave him barefoot so that he has more direct contact with the child. ground and better balance.
• Choose a time when your baby is in good shape, fully awake: avoid nap time of course, but also digestion time, which is not conducive to antics of all kinds.
• If your child is reluctant to take part in the activities offered, instead let him explore the room freely. If he is really reluctant, don't insist and just observe the others or go home this time, even if it means coming back the following week: baby gym should always remain a pleasure.
• Remember to hydrate your child well during the sessions, and take a snack with you for the outing because they are likely to be a little hungry after all these activities!
• Finally, don't be surprised if he appears tired after the sessions. Plan a quiet activity or rest time at home.
