When the holidays approach, packing your bags can quickly turn into a real move with a little one! Discover our tips for carrying the essentials without overloading yourself unnecessarily.

Clothing wise It's all a question of balance: you certainly don't want to spend your time doing laundry (especially if your vacation spot doesn't have a washing machine), but there's no question of multiplying the loads either. luggage !

You can count on a maximum of one outfit per day and one pair of pajamas for two days, to which you will add one or two warmer outfits to deal with the vagaries of the weather.

Prefer outfits made of soft cotton, which do not require ironing. Sleep wise It’s difficult to do without a bassinet or travel cot…

If you are going by car, this will probably not be a problem, but if you have chosen the train or the plane things get complicated!

In this case, organize in advance to rent one or have one lent to you on site: most hotels offer them, and there are many baby equipment rental services. Other essentials for a good night's sleep: a more or less light sleeping bag depending on your destination, a cuddly toy if your baby has one, and a few pacifiers if he uses them. Power side

If your baby is exclusively breastfed, the question is settled: you don't need to take anything!

During your vacation, you can skip the nursing pillow and make do with a pillow or bolster that you can find on site.

On the other hand, if your baby is bottle-fed, remember to bring 2 or 3 bottles, a bottle brush to clean them and the powdered milk he is used to. Also include some plastic bibs (easily washable) or cloth diapers in the suitcase, which are very practical for wiping up small spills. Finally, if your child is diverse, it is better to plan to buy compotes and small pots on site. If you want to make purees yourself, simply take along the little food processor that cooks and mixes that you probably have at home.

Toiletry bag side To avoid overloading the toiletry bag, opt for compact products or products that combine several functions: body and hair gel for washing your baby, wipes for changing or cleaning, physiological serum in pods, cream for changing which prevents and treats redness, samples of moisturizing face and body cream…

Very practical too, the Mustela essential kits in mini format: “My first weekend in the sun”, with the essential products for a summer outing: Special Face Sun Milk 40 ml, Dermo-cleanser and cleansing water or in a Milk version solar 100 ml,

There's also no need to load up on diapers for the entire stay: take a few for the trip then buy a pack when you arrive at your vacation spot. Also bring a small first aid kit with your child's usual medications if they need them, as well as pods of physiological serum, paracetamol syrup, dressings, an antiseptic and a mosquito repellent suitable for little ones.

Finally, summer vacation means sunshine... and it is imperative to protect your baby's sensitive skin, which is particularly vulnerable!

You must bring: maximum sun protection (SPF 50+) specifically designed for the little ones, but also sunglasses and one or two hats or bucket hats.

And when it comes to outings, the stroller is particularly useful on vacation: you can of course use it to walk your baby, and you can also use it as a substitute for a deckchair for certain waking moments and for meals if it is varied. But it is undeniably bulky...

If you want to do without it, there is still the option of a baby carrier or a sling, much smaller and lighter. Meals can then simply be eaten on your lap.

Is the luggage ready? So everyone in the car and have a good vacation!
