Bathing is very important for your baby: it contributes to his daily body hygiene but also to his sensory development. It is also a unique moment of exchange and complicity with you.

Discover our tips for enjoying these special moments with complete peace of mind and learning how to clean your baby without damaging their delicate and still immature skin!

    THE BATH RITUAL

    BEFORE THE BATH

    • Heat your bathroom to a temperature between 20°C and 22°C.

    • Fill the bathtub with water at 37°C using a bath thermometer.

    • Place everything you need within easy reach: towel, toiletries, moisturizers, diaper, clean clothes or pajamas, etc.

    • Undress your baby and clean his bottom.

    IN THE BATH

    • During the first months, hold your baby by slipping one hand under his neck and shoulders and the other under his buttocks: he will feel surrounded and reassured. From 4 or 5 months, you can use a bath lounger if you wish.

    • If washing your newborn in water while holding him seems difficult, soap him on the changing table then rinse him in water.

    • When he knows how to sit up, you can release him into the water. However, never leave him alone in his bath, whatever his age, even for a short time and in a small volume of water.

    • Pour a few drops of bath oil. Stir with your hand to distribute the oil evenly. No need to rinse. Be careful, Oil can make the bathtub slippery. be careful

    • Use soap-free hygiene products, specifically adapted to your baby's delicate skin. If your skin is dry, choose a product enriched with moisturizing, protective and nourishing agents (Cold Cream products for example).

    • Every 2 or 3 days, wash your baby's head and hair with a suitable shampoo that does not sting the eyes. If he has cradle cap, choose a specific infant shampoo that will help you get rid of it. To rinse his hair, use a glass, his bath watering can, a hand shower or simply your cupped hand, whichever is most pleasant for him.

    AFTER BATH

    • Quickly wrap your baby in his towel, then dry him gently and without rubbing. Pay particular attention to the seat and folds (thighs, armpits, neck, feet, etc.).

    • Moisturize him by massaging his entire body with body milk or a Cold Cream-based product if he has dry skin. When you have time, don't hesitate to extend the massage for his pleasure and yours!

    • To delicately perfume your baby, you can spray toilet water on his body and hair.
