VERY SOFT, THE SKIN IS MORE FRAGILE...
During pregnancy, hormonal variations modify the balance of the skin, accelerating its dehydration, making it less resistant and more sensitive. In this context, we understand that hair removal, which is usually so banal, becomes an aggressive gesture! While there is obviously no question of giving up hair removal until the baby arrives, you must, however, take the necessary precautions before and after.
Daily hydration is essential: nourishing and hydrating your skin twice a day is THE essential gesture to preserve its ultra-sensitivity.
Washing gel just before: healthy skin, free of impurities, will be less prone to reactivity. Soothing moisturizing balm just after: formulated specifically for maternity, it helps soothe feelings of tightness and deeply hydrate the skin.
EACH METHOD HAS ITS PRECAUTIONS
While it is perfectly possible to continue to remove hair from your legs, armpits and bikini line yourself, using precautions, there is no question of intervening on possible hair growth on the brown line going from the navel to the pubis, which will disappear after childbirth.
The razor : it presents few risks provided you only use clean blades so that a microcut does not result in the intrusion of a germ. To make the procedure safer and not over-attack the epidermis, it is always better to use a shaving foam, even if the razor is equipped with a bar of moisturizing active ingredients. Especially since with the razor, rapid regrowth involves repeating the operation frequently...
The electric epilator : it offers the advantage of lasting hair removal over 2 to 3 weeks and therefore avoids repeated attack on the skin. The procedure can, however, be a little painful for the most sensitive and a source of irritation if the epilator is not systematically cleaned well.
Wax : it leaves the skin clear for 2-3 weeks and is never completely painless... It is up to each person, depending on their sensitivity, to judge the benefit of continuing this method. In all cases, it is better to opt for cold wax strips: even if they require greater hair regrowth to be effective, they do not risk causing the risk of burns inherent to hot wax. Which is in any case contraindicated in cases of venous insufficiency.
Depilatory cream : it contains active ingredients which act in depth and is therefore not indicated during pregnancy when the skin is naturally more reactive.
Laser or pulsed light : their radiation goes beyond the epidermis, they are reserved for before or after pregnancy.
